Mary Schumacher, Secondary School Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in teaching policies and strategies.
A natural born leader whose personal philosophy is to help others rise to their potential, Mrs. Schumacher celebrates five decades of professional excellence in her career. She has held prominent roles at the secondary and higher education levels, which have included director of the Mathematics and Parents Program (MAPP) at the University of Arizona, chairman of the mathematics department at Flowing Wells High School, and teacher for San Manuel High School. With expertise in geometry, Mrs. Schumacher has found a way to help her students learn, grow and thrive. In fact, her passion for helping others find success went beyond just students. Regularly, she would travel for workshops in other school districts to introduce new teaching policies and strategies to their educators.
Mrs. Schumacher’s achievements in her career have been supported by her own education. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Mayville State University, which she earned in 1967, and a Master of Science from the University of Arizona, earned in 1974. In recognition of her professional excellence, Mrs. Schumacher was named Teacher of the Year by the Ambassadors for Excellence and she earned a Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, she was a Growth Initiative for Teachers (GIFT) Fellow. As she looks to the future, Mrs. Schumacher intends to continue in her tremendous work while seeking out new opportunities in education.
